Q: What are the power requirements?
A: 120 VAC @ 3 Amps

Q: What kind of print mechanism is used?
A: A monochrome, photographic-quality, thermal printer designed by Polaroid exclusively for use in the Face Place Photo Booth

Q: Why are there two printers in each Face Place Photo Booth?
A: There are three reasons the Face Place Photo Booth utilizes redundant printers;

  • The most common reason a photo booth is "out of order" isn't because it's broken - it's because it's out of media (film). We've virtually eliminated this from ever occurring in a Face Place Photo Booth. When one printer reaches the "End-of-Roll", the machine seamlessly switches to the second printer ensuring continual operation.
  • Reduction of media waste. When a Photo Booth with one printer is placed in an un-attended location, End-of-Roll waste can cost the operator a significant amount of money.

    How? With one printer, a service person would most likely be instructed to replace the roll of media (film) when the roll gets down to 1/4" remaining or less. This could add up to $50 or more in lost revenues being tossed out - it's cheaper to throw out the remaining media then to make an unscheduled service call to replace the roll when it finally does run out. The annual savings in media costs and elimination of down time due to "out of media" conditions adds up significantly over the course of a year.
  • Failure back up. "If" one of your Face Place Photo Booth printers experiences a technical failure, your booth will continue to operate without interruption via the remaining printer.
